<\/i><\/span><\/i><\/span>How it works<\/span><\/i><\/div>How it works<\/strong><\/h4>Students on our Engineering course can complete a\u00a0Level 3\u00a0<\/b>(60 credits) OTHM diploma, designed to provide students with the skills needed to succeed in the Engineering industry.<\/p>
The course is completed online and you can start at any time, it\u2019s completely flexible. Each module consists of 40 hours of guided online learning, with an additional 30-50 hours worth of optional materials that include recommended exercises, readings, digital resources and self-test tasks.<\/p>
To complete the course you\u2019ll submit\u00a06 online assignments\u00a0<\/b>at each level, and assignments are approximately\u00a02,000-3,000 words\u00a0<\/b>each. Once you\u2019ve passed your course, you\u2019ll be awarded with an\u00a0OTHM diploma<\/b>\u00a0and you\u2019ll be able to top up your qualification to a bachelor\u2019s degree at a range of UK universities.<\/p>

Each module consists of 40 guided learning hours of material with an additional 30-50 hours worth of optional materials that comprise of recommended exercises, recommended readings, Internet resources, and self-testing exercises.<\/p>
The Level 3 foundation diploma in Engineering has 6 modules:<\/b><\/strong><\/p>Engineering principles<\/p>
- Understand applications of SI units and measurement.<\/li>
- Know how to perform engineering calculations.<\/li>
- Know how to interpret engineering information.<\/li><\/ul>
Design Technology<\/p>
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of engineering products and design.<\/li>
- Understand how to apply a systems approach to electrical design.<\/li>
- Be able to produce 2D CAD drawings.<\/li><\/ul>
Electricity<\/p>
- Understand the functions of basic electrical components within circuits.<\/li>
- Be able to apply AC and DC circuit theory to circuit design.<\/li>
- Understand power supplies and power system protection.<\/li><\/ul>
